Light Party® started in 2000, when Wendy Reid, a mother and Children's Worker in Auckland, New Zealand was frustrated with Halloween and decided to do something positive.She developed the Light Party® concept, and ran her first Light Party® in her home. It was so popular that with the support of her church elders she ran a Light Party® for the Sunday School and then for the wider community.
In 2003 she established an Internet presence, placing the Light Party® concept into the hands of a Trust. The Light Party® brand was Trade Marked, marketed in New Zealand and internationally and Light Party® events have grown in popularity ever since!
Light Party® Incorporated is a New Zealand based Trust that owns and manages the Light Party® concept and branding. The Trustees are Wendy Reid and Dennis A. Smith of Auckland.
